Underwoods SolicitorsUnderwoods Solicitors based in Hemel Hempstead are looking to fill the following roles.

Private Client

Work involves drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney; dealing with Administration of Estates and associated tax and trust issues. Matters include dealing with high net worth individuals and a wide variety of clients including politicians and sports people.

The ability to communicate in a clear and practical way to all people is essential.

The firm has strong connections with South Africa and the work will involve liasing with lawyers from foreign jurisdictions in appropriate cases, and training people in our office in South Africa.

This is an opportunity to develop the existing client base in the local community, nationally and internationally and to take advantage of some of the high-profile connections which the firm has. The role is suitable for full time, part time, or job share. Salary will depend on knowledge, skills and experience.

An ability to see the opportunities offered by Brexit will help.

Conveyancer

Ability to deal with all aspects of Residential Conveyancing, and to run the Residential Conveyancing Department is essential.

Ability to handle Commercial Conveyancing is an advantage.

Litigation

The firm has a wide range of Civil Litigation matters from debt collection to highly complex multi-track work and it is at the core of the firm’s business.

Both partners are civil litigators and the role involves assisting the partners, as well as the lawyer having her or his own workload.

Commercial

The role involves working on business sales and purchases, setting up companies, company advice and insolvency matters including working with Insolvency Practitioners.

Clients range from local shops and business to the Joint Administrators for the Cambridge Analytica Group of Companies.
