Legal Futures Associates SIFA and 360 Legal Group will be holding a series of roadshows around the UK during January and February 2012.

The roadshows will look at the importance of management systems and controls as not only the key to compliance with Outcomes Focused Regulation but also deliving competitive advantage in the post-Legal Services Act environment. Quality accreditations are not the whole answer and COLP and COFA bear only part of the responsibility. Firms also need to set about differentiating their client proposition. Sessions will discuss:

  • The opportunities and implications for your firm of the arrival of private equity in the legal marketplace
  • The practicalities of Outcomes Focused Regulation and the role of COLP and COFA
  • Business models for the future and the role of the trusted adviser

The roadshows are accredited for 2 hours of Law Society CPD and cost £50 (incl VAT) per delegate. For full details of the programme, venue and dates download the brochure:  SIFA roadshows. To book visit www.sifa-centre.info

Yet law firms are often more concerned about protecting sensitive information from external threats than from a far more likely cause: human error. Human error was behind the forwarding of confidential plans from The Bank of England to The Guardian. The sender included the wrong recipient in the email and, ever since, autocomplete has been disabled and staff at the UK’s main financial regulator must now enter every single address manually.
