Last chance to book your place onto our free Coal Authority local networking events

GlasgowThis week marked the start of a new series of free CPD events from the Coal Authority – with more still available to book!

Certain to be a highlight in this year’s legal event calendar, we are touring Britain’s coalfield during May and hosting legal professionals at a series of informative events.

Legal professionals will get the opportunity to network whilst finding out more about the Coal Authority and our new CON29M report. Each event will also feature a different industry guest speaker, providing insight and discussion opportunities about key conveyancing topics.

We began our tour of Britain this week, starting at the Trades Hall in Glasgow where attendees – made up mostly of conveyancers – found out more about our new official Coal Authority CON29M. There was an opportunity to hear more from guest speakers including Stewart Title, with a discussion about title indemnity insurance and finally a session hearing about the work of the Scottish Paralegal Association. Then of course another key part of each event is about providing an opportunity to network over a morning pastry and some lunch.

“I found the roadshow event excellent and illuminating. The information about the Coal Authority was especially enlightening and practical, demystifying who they are and what they do. The focus on the changes to their new official CON29M report highlighted that they are receptive to the needs of conveyancers and their clients. It is also apparent that they are open to feedback and suggestions from the legal community.

“I definitely now have more of an understanding  of the Coal Authority’s functions and responsibilities and how these are fulfilled.” Susan Black, Solicitor at Bradley Campbell & Co, Greenock

Our roadshows continue next week when we’ll be visiting Manchester at The Chamber Space on Tuesday 7 May where we’ll be joined by United Utilities and Land Registry. Then we move on to Sheffield on Wednesday 8 May at The Novotel where SafeMove and Land Registry will be our guest speakers. Other locations include Swansea, Stoke on Trent, Newcastle and the Coal Authority’s head office in Mansfield.
