Legal Futures Associate DAS Legal Expenses Insurance [1] has announced the appointment of Sue Renny as legal services manager.
The legal services department performs a number of important functions within the company. The department has been very successful in establishing a close knit panel of law firms and negotiates and prepares all contracts on behalf of the company.
The department has also worked on responding to and lobbying relevant parties to mitigate the implementation of litigation funding changes, in particular regarding the Jackson report. Its focus has now turned to concentrating efforts on establishing an alternative business structure (ABS) within DAS to handle claims in accordance with the Legal Services Act.
Kathryn Mortimer, head of legal services, said: “I am delighted to welcome Sue into the team. This is an exciting time for both the department and the company and Sue will have a pivotal role to play.”
Sue joined DAS in 1997 after completing a law degree and MA in criminal justice at Southampton. After working in both corporate and broker sales, Sue joined the compliance department in 2007. Her role as senior project manager saw her become closely involved in number of important company projects, including the set-up of DAS Canada.
The appointment is effective immediately.
