Search Acumen’s analysis reveals that the conveyancing market across England and Wales registered a record 306,237 completed transactions between October and December last year.

Andy Sommerville, Director at Search Acumen, says: “December’s figures represent a full year of rising house prices across the UK, driven by sustained demand which has progressively outstripped supply during the course of the year. Traditionally a quieter month for the property market, house prices continued to defy expectations and climbed 10.8% in the final month of the year.  

UK residential transactions in December 2021 were 113,470, 11.8% higher than November 2021. Andy Sommerville, Director at Search Acumen, says: “December’s transactions figures mark a solid end to what was an extremely fast paced and enormously busy 12 months.

Monthly construction output increased by 3.5% in volume terms in November 2021, which is the largest monthly rise seen in construction output growth since March 2021 

Andy Sommerville, Director at Search Acumen, says: “These latest figures show that house prices continue to climb due to ongoing market forces driving pricing, albeit at a less frenetic pace than at the peak of the Stamp Duty holiday. We are still seeing very high prices that were last seen before the financial crash in 2007.
