SOS Connect "people’s choice" at Harrison Clark in IRIS/AIM Evolution swap out

Legal Futures Associate is to assist Harrison Clark Solicitors achieve significant improvements in efficiency and the adoption of practice-wide, standard business processes with SOS Connect.

This fully integrated case, practice and marketing management system will replace an IRIS/AIM Evolution system following an IT review from which SOS Connect emerged as the “people’s” unanimous favourite.

Harrison Clark is an established firm based in Cheltenham and Worcester employing around 180 people. The firm offers a comprehensive range of legal services to private and business clients. In July a merger with a Ross-on-Wye practice will add a further 25 people and an agriculture specialism to the private client area.

Business director Colin Box explained what they want from the new software: “The drive for more efficiency is the main motivating factor. Through SOS Connect we will be able to introduce standard file opening and closing procedures, gain closer integration, especially for e-mail, with Microsoft Office, as well as centralised, accessible data and greater ease of use.

“The full integration between case, practice and marketing management will help to continually improve practice standards as well as simplify our Lexcel quality management compliance, which has not been easy with the current system.”

Harrison Clark engaged Professional Choice Consultancy to assist in the specification of requirements and evaluation of systems on the market. This process resulted in a short list of IRIS, Pilgrim and SOS, who were each invited to host day-long demonstrations of their software.

Harrison Clark involved a wide mix of personnel representing all areas of the business to participate in these sessions. As Colin Box remembered: “SOS had taken particular care to demonstrate how their system would meet our requirements. Staff were given a check list in order to score each vendor’s solution and the unanimous winner, or people’s choice, was SOS Connect.” Contracts were signed at the end of March.

A further key delivery of the new system’s implementation will be the data conversion from the AIM system as well as several other disparate databases. This work, together with customising case management work flows for residential property, debt recovery, personal injury and generic business processes, will be carried out by SOS. The new system is scheduled to go live in December, with the implementation at the soon-to-be-acquired Ross-on-Wye practice to be integrated soon after.

David McNamara, managing director of SOS said: “Improving productivity is top of mind for many firms and I am delighted to say that SOS has a long record of delivering tangible benefits from successful implementation projects. We are already working alongside Harrison Clark’s excellent business development team to ensure we meet their preferred live date.”
