Pilgrim and Kestrel unveil partnership

Legal software specialist Pilgrim Systems [1] has formed a partnership with law firm IT consultants Kestrel Business Solutions to help maintain service levels to clients during a period of growth.

The alliance will see Kestrel deliver LawSoft-related services to Pilgrim clients. They will be involved both in new client projects and in delivering services to established customers.

Colin Kennedy, chief operating officer of Pilgrim, a Legal Futures Associate, welcomed the move, saying: “We are a growing business and as such we have a number of responsibilities to our established clients, our new clients and our staff. Throughout our growth we have ensured that we have ample resource to deliver high quality projects. Our partnership with Kestrel is working well and will benefit all stakeholders.”

Mr Kennedy said LawSoft, which is Pilgrim’s flagship product, represents an attractive combination for firms looking to replace legacy technology with a leading edge, complete solution, provided by a company dedicated to its product and the legal technology market place. He said Pilgrim already has a strong order book and is forecasting increased sales for 2011.

In order to continue to deliver high-quality projects, Pilgrim has expanded its project delivery team to the extent that it is now one of the largest IT implementation teams in the UK, he added.

Kestrel, a specialist law firm consultancy and IT development house, has built its reputation as a partner in successful legal global practice management software and enterprise resource planning implementations.

Carol Cuthbert, Kestrel’s director of sales and marketing, said: “We have been looking to extend our reach within the UK legal sector through partnering. All involved in legal IT are aware that Pilgrim is one of the main players and with LawSoft its success will continue. It therefore made perfect sense for us to invest time and energy picking up the necessary LawSoft skills so that Kestrel can deliver related services to the profession. We are already working with Pilgrim on a project and our consultants are very impressed with LawSoft’s depth and breadth.”
