Ahmed: Five-month sentence
A trainee solicitor who sent unwanted explicit messages and an image to a woman he was representing at court has been jailed.
Mohammed Ahmed, 28 and from Birmingham, added one of his female clients on social media, which he claimed he had done by accident.
He then sent the woman explicit messages and an explicit image of himself, known as cyberflashing. She reported what him to West Midlands Police.
Mr Ahmed was charged with sending the unsolicited explicit image to cause alarm, distress, or humiliation. He admitted the offence when he appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court last month.
He was jailed for five months and placed on the sexual offender register for five years.
Police staff investigator Katie Evers, from the force’s public protection unit, said: “Ahmed abused his position of trust and sent explicit messages and an image to someone he was supposed to be helping.
“The woman in this case did exactly the right thing and came forward and reported his crimes.
“I want to thank her for her bravery in making the report so we could stop him abusing his position of trust to any other women.”
