UK’s largest chambers selects Advanced Legal’s MLC to support growth strategy

AdvancedLegal200 [1]St John’s Buildings, the UK’s largest chambers, has signed a three year deal with Advanced Legal [2] (Advanced) for its market leading chambers management solution, MLC. St John’s Buildings recently embarked on an ambitious three year growth strategy and MLC will be a key component in enabling the set to expand.

Advanced will roll out the chambers management solution during the summer of 2015. St John’s Buildings has more than 230 barristers and 70 support staff operating in four offices across the north of England.  The firm has a large client portfolio, with significant expertise in private, commercial and legal aid work.

Chris Ronan, chief executive, St John’s Buildings, comments, “Our strategy is focused on continued growth and service excellence. We are therefore committed to streamlining our internal processes, fine-tuning clerking efficiencies and driving down costs. Our IT investment is a vital part of this development. It is a cornerstone to enabling us to deliver a cohesive and consistently high quality client experience.”

MLC is the leading chambers management software solution on the market and has been developed for use by barristers, clerks, marketeers, practice managers and chief executives. Its comprehensive automation increases efficiency and maximises revenue throughout chambers.

Ronan continues, “MLC will help reduce the unnecessary manual tasks associated with our case handling.  As we move toward electronic document management (EDM), the digital capabilities will assist in reducing unnecessary printing and courier costs. This improvement in efficiency and the deployment of an EDM solution replicates the working methods of our clients.

“The Advanced team took the time to understand our requirements and are well placed to help us achieve our goals. After spending time with them and reviewing the competition, MLC represented the best solution for chambers and our clients.”

Doug Hargrove, managing director, Advanced Legal comments, “It is excellent news that we are welcoming St John’s Buildings onto the MLC platform. The fact that the UK’s largest chambers are choosing MLC following a thorough due diligence process is testament to the strength of both the product and our ability to exceed chambers’ expectations.”

Advanced Legal is a division of Advanced Computer Software Group plc, a leading supplier of software and IT services to the health, care and business services sectors.
