UK’s first video-based online legal advice service expands content as more law firms get on board

Free Legal Advice Centre

Following its BETA launch on Legal Futures last month [2], the Free Legal Advice Centre has seen a flurry of law firms signing up to appear on the site. The web service, the UK’s first online legal service offering consumers advice and guidance purely by video, has been inundated with firms wanting to appear on the site.

mmadigital [3], the online marketing agency for the legal sector, saw that with increasing numbers of consumers making purchases after watching videos online there was an opportunity to design a website that would help law firms reach an even wider audience. The Free Legal Advice Centre was created, providing a platform through which consumers can connect with lawyers. The site provides a one stop shop for quality legal advice through access to informative, plain English advice video guides covering the full range of legal disciplines.

Feedback on the new service has been overwhelmingly positive with over 70 firms expressing an interest during the soft launch phase. Content has already been uploaded from firms including Ward Hadaway, Priority Legal, Stephensons and Express Solicitors. The videos cover disciplines such as personal injury, employment law and private client.

Dez Derry, CEO, mmadigital explains: “We expected the Free Legal Advice Centre to attract some early interest but have been surprised to see quite how far reaching that interest has been. We have had enquiries from across the UK with law firms really waking up to the importance of generating leads online.  Whilst it has been a slow process of change and modernisation for the sector, the initial excitement over our new web service shows that the status quo is changing and more firms are realising the potential of digital marketing to engage with new audiences.”

The website’s content is only limited by what law firms provide so whatever the specialism it can be listed on the site, attracting new clients who can then contact law firms directly.  All videos are fully branded, with any leads going directly to the firm, giving them the ability to clearly measure return on investment.  Videos on the Free Legal Advice Centre will also achieve favourable rankings on search engines and provide opportunities to drive traffic to firms’ sites via social media channels.

mmadigital is making a considerable marketing and PR investment in the Free Legal Advice Centre. Long term, the agency plans to create a comprehensive video library fully searchable by discipline and location.

To date the site features over 40 law firms, with a full consumer launch planned later this year. Law firms can submit video content to appear for free for a limited period and should contact Dez Derry at mmadigital to find out the criteria:  dez@mmadigital.co.uk [4]
