The login nobody asked for (and the workaround you already have)

This week, our data showed a sudden spike in usage of our Lender Handbook tool. The reason turned out to be a pretty neat illustration of why conveyancers keep coming back to InfoTrack.

The spike, explained

UK Finance recently rolled out a new website, with two factor authentication now required for anyone logging in directly to check the Lender Handbook. It’s a sensible move for security, but it does mean one more set of credentials for busy conveyancing teams to manage alongside everything else on their plate.

We felt this ourselves internally too. Setting up access on our end took a bit of extra coordination, including a dedicated email group to catch the authentication codes. It’s a good reminder of how even small extra steps add up when you’re moving through a completion checklist at pace, especially at a time when lender requirements are changing more than ever. In July alone, there have been 110 changes to Part 2 requirements across lenders, so keeping on top of what’s actually changed matters more than ever.

The result has been a clear shift in behaviour. Rather than logging in separately, conveyancers are turning to the Lender Handbook already built into the InfoTrack platform, no extra login required, just the information they need, exactly where they’re already working.

What you already get, for free

It’s worth restating this because it’s easy to forget when something has just quietly worked in the background for years: the Lender Handbook has been part of the InfoTrack platform for six years, and the core functionality has always been free.

That includes:

· Full access to lender specific requirements across onboarding, pre completion, and post completion stages · Automatic lender mapping from eCOS: select your lender in the eCOS dropdown and the handbook populates with that lender’s specific requirements straightaway, no manual searching required

· The ability to save handbook checks directly to your case file, creating a timestamped audit record to align with CQS compliance

· Subscription alerts when a lender changes their requirements, which you can sign up to directly, including at the point of doing a priority search

· No separate login required, one less system to manage Right now, we’re seeing well over 8,000 handbook lookups a week through the platform, and around 1,400 export/review actions weekly. Those numbers jumped again this week, a pretty direct sign of which route conveyancers would rather take.

As I said to a colleague this week: people vote with their feet. They know it’s easier to work through a platform they’re already living in than to log into a separate site.

Why this matters beyond the login screen

The bigger point isn’t really about a password. It’s about where your team’s time and attention should go. Every extra login, every separate portal, every “just quickly check the other site” moment pulls focus away from the things that actually matter, client relationships, case progression, strategic work.

We built the Lender Handbook into the platform specifically so that lender requirements show up automatically in the workflow, in Enquiries, in Property Report, in Document Review, rather than requiring a manual detour. That’s the difference between a tool that’s simply available and one that’s genuinely embedded in how conveyancers already work.

What’s coming next

This is the part I’m most excited about. Over the next few months, we’re investing further in making lender requirements even easier to surface directly within your existing workflow, so you spend less time searching and more time acting. We’ll have more to share on this soon.

There are some genuinely exciting launches coming in the months ahead, with the Lender Handbook very much part of it. Our mission of removing friction for conveyancers is one that matters just as much today as it did when we first built this platform.
