The Great Legal Bake [1] returns from 3-7 November. Bakers nationwide will raise much kneaded dough for the London Legal Support Trust [2] in partnership with the Access to Justice Foundation. [3]
Since 2013, the Great Legal Bake has attracted 1000’s of bakers to fire up their ovens, bake delicious treats and raise vital funds for free legal advice charities across the UK.
Last year saw 112 organisations rise to the challenge- raising a fantastic £28,000. From bagels and buns to family secret recipes, legal themed bakes, and even shop bought cakes – this event is sure to bind colleagues (and clients) together and raise funds for a great cause; the proof is in the pudding!

The Great Legal Bake takes place as part of celebrating Pro Bono Week [4], which offers an opportunity to recognise and support the voluntary contributions made by the legal profession across the UK in giving free legal help to those in need. The 2025 theme for the Week is “Pro Bono In Action”, highlighting the impact that lawyers can have when volunteering their legal services for free. With 60 teams already registered, momentum is building for the national event.
Chair of the Pro Bono Week organising committee, barrister Toby Brown, said: “By taking part in this year’s Great Legal Bake, we can “whisk up” funds for justice. Law students, lawyers, charity staff and judges will share baked treats and raise much needed “dough” for legal advice charities. Please do get baking from 3 to 7 November or come ready with your donation!”

Charities offering specialist free legal advice help thousands of people every year. Without these services some of the most marginalised people in our society would not have access to essential free legal advice.
By baking, eating, and donating, you can help people stay employed, with a roof over their head and be safe.
