By Legal Futures Associate The College of Legal Practice
The Oxford Brookes School of Law has always aimed to offer practical legal skills, complemented with academic rigour, to their students, helping them successfully compete in the legal services market. As a progressive institution that is focused on their students’ career opportunities, they are now facilitating access to the new route to qualify as a solicitor, the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).
In this new partnership, The College of Legal Practice will offer Oxford Brookes law students appropriate guidance and information on the SQE route to qualification, alongside discounted preparation courses. The College’s SQE preparation courses are fully accredited by the Office for Students and can be taken separately or together within an LLM in Legal Practice, eligible for Masters Loan funding.
The quality of teaching and focus on practical legal skills offered by The College of Legal Practice closely mirrors Oxford Brookes School of Law’s own academic and career focused approach.
Dr Giles Proctor, CEO of The College of Legal Practice, commented:
“Having recently met many of Oxford Brookes School of Law’s students and spoken with them about the introduction of the SQE, it is clear that this partnership will open up a new route for many to become a solicitor.
