Thames Water Property SearchesThames Water Property Searches are delighted to announce a new conveyancing CPD event, focusing on the residential property market, its current status, recent legislation changes, cybersecurity risks and protective measures, and the possible effects of Brexit.

The full day event will be held in June at the Metro Bank in Holborn, London.

This event follows the highly successful seminar held by Thames Water Property Searches on 28 February 2019 which focused on commercial conveyancing.  Around 80 delegates attended the CPD event which focused on the practical aspects of commercial property conveyancing and cybersecurity.  Emma Baddaley from Lawyer Checker, a speaker at the event, commented that delegates stated the experience was “valuable, informative, and worthwhile, and provided several calls to action to implement within their organisations”.

The residential property seminar includes several notable speakers such as David Keighley, a Law Consultant at David Keighley Training.  David spent 35 years as a conveyancing Solicitor and was Head of Residential Property at a Legal 500 firm.  He now focuses on passing on his knowledge and experience to others, regularly presenting at/for property law conferences, seminars, webinars, audio seminars and related events.   David is a renowned lawyer within the industry and will be sharing topical residential property issues and legislation updates.

Kate Faulkner is a property market analyst and commentator.  Kate is one of the UK’s leading property experts and authors a widely-read monthly update covering trends and developments in property prices.  With Brexit on the horizon, Kate will be discussing what the next 5 years will hold in the property market.

Leanne Wright who has been with HM Land Registry for over 17 years, will be providing an update at the June event on the digital transformation within HM Land Registry and insight into the new Local Land Charges Programme.

Finally, with over 20 years’ experience in the City working with senior executives, Emma Baddaley is now the Key Relationship Manager, at Lawyer Checker.  Emma will be informing the delegates about cybersecurity as it applies to conveyancing, both in terms of risk and how firms can implement protective measures using a ‘layered’ approach.

With keynote speakers and an informative schedule of topics, this event will provide ongoing value to those who attend.

Hannah Mackinlay , Law Consultant at propertylaw.guru, who spoke at the commercial property seminar in February commented that it was a “great day with great feedback from the delegates. A lively and practical debate about searches and the impact on commercial conveyancers, plus tips and traps to avoid problems for themselves and their clients”.

The residential property CPD event is expected to provide just as much, if not more value to attendees.
