On Sunday 22 September, four employees from (SOS [1]) are taking part in a notoriously ‘hardcore’ Tough Mudder challenge.
Located in the Black Mountains and designed by the Special Forces, the South West course covers 12 miles of harsh terrain entwined with intense obstacles such as Human Gecko, Electric Eel, Kiss of Mud and Arctic Enema.
Graham Colbourne (41), systems director at SOS states: “Most of us have done the Bath Half Marathon a few times and were looking for a more gruelling challenge. Entering Team SOS into Tough Mudder was my idea, although I am regretting that now!”
Account manager, Douglas Convery (39) adds: “I can’t wait for the weekend – to get it over with! I’ve been running along the canal at lunchtimes and building my upper-body strength. I’m really not looking forward to the electric-shock or ice water obstacles.”
Software tester, Edward Hines-Lindo (29) says: “I’ve been training for months, even doing hill sprints and workouts in my lunch hour. The event is all about the team getting around together, so even if I could finish quickly I am determined to support my colleagues.”
Scripting consultant, Chris Beck (25), concludes: “In our various roles within the company, we don’t often get to see some of our colleagues. Although I am dreading the event, at least it is a great way to get to know each other better…”
