SOS Connect unanimous choice to support strategic growth at WSP Solicitors

Having undergone two mergers in recent years followed by Lexcel accreditation, WSP Solicitors has now chosen SOS Connect as part of an IT overhaul to streamline operations.

With around 70 staff, WSP Solicitors is a multi-practice firm with offices in Stroud, Dursley and Nailsworth, in Gloucestershire.

Last year the firm decided to replace its legal software system and in a unanimous decision has chosen SOS Connect, from (SOS), for integrated practice management, case management and customer relationship management.

“As a firm we have been through two mergers, in 2008 and again in 2010,” says Peter Mardon, managing partner of WSP Solicitors. “Then after achieving accreditation in the Lexcel practice management standard last year, we felt the time was right to upgrade technology across the firm, to enable us to work more efficiently.”

Enhanced usability was an overarching business driver for the firm, so the look and feel of the new system interface was of primary consideration. Legal accounting tools to manage credit control and cash flow were also important. In addition, Outlook integration was a key requirement, along with accessing management information, reports and KPIs.

“We realised that our software system needed replacing and invited three suppliers to come and see us,” adds Peter Mardon. “What really swung our decision was the reaction of our partners, all of whom were very impressed by SOS Connect’s capabilities.”

David McNamara, managing director of SOS, said: “WSP Solicitors has seen some dynamic changes in recent years and understandably saw fit to revisit its IT operations. We are delighted that it has chosen SOS Connect as its legal software partner and the fact that we were the unanimous choice from three vendors makes it even moregratifying.”
