[1]The Greek debt crisis deteriorated further at the weekend. Not only did talks between Greece and its creditors break down without agreement but the Greek government also announced a referendum (to be held on Sunday 5 July) to consult the electorate on whether to accept the bailout terms offered by the EU.This step effectively ended all negotiations as the Greek government is no longer in a position to sign any agreement in advance of the referendum results.
