RPC announced as latest firm to benefit from proofreading tool LexisDraft

LexisNexis200 [1]LexisNexis UK (www.lexisnexis.co.uk [2]), a leading provider of content and technology solutions, announced leading London-headquartered commercial firm RPC, named Law Firm of the Year 2014, as the latest to adopt LexisDraft.

The award-winning toolbar chosen by RPC assists lawyers in the proofreading process, saving time and ensuring document quality. LexisDraft scans and highlights potential misuses of key components in agreements, checks for correct use of definitions, finds and fixes inconsistent phrasing, identifies broken references, ensures that up-to-date citations are used, applies consistent numbering and allows for in-product collaboration.

As a forward-thinking firm, RPC is committed to adopting new technology that helps them work smarter and demonstrably delivers value to its clients.

Sanjeev Chahal, project manager at RPC, commented: “We are continually looking for ways to work smarter. We value our lawyers’ expertise and we want to give them the time to focus on adding value for their clients, rather than getting bogged down on more process-heavy tasks.

“We know that our clients expect documents to be error-free, and proofreading can be onerous and time consuming. LexisDraft enables our team to proofread and check for potential errors in a fraction of the time, improving efficiency and reducing risk. This gives our lawyers the flexibility to do what they do best – providing focused commercial advice and outstanding legal service.”

LexisDraft operates within Microsoft Word, a working environment that lawyers are used to, without the need for switching between programs or extensive staff training on new products. Chahal added: “We are attracted to the clean and simple interface of LexisDraft. Technology should be simple to adopt so lawyers actually use it and reap the benefits.”

Julian Morgan, head of drafting applications at LexisNexis, said: “We are seeing more and more firms catching on to the benefit that the technology offers the law firms of today. We have designed LexisDraft with the modern future-focused firm in mind and are confident that it will continue to become part of the everyday legal workflow. We are delighted that RPC can see the real commercial value that LexisDraft delivers”.
