Spencers Solicitors  has announced the appointment of Robert Landman to Chief Executive Officer. Robert has been the Chief Financial Officer at the leading Chesterfield based personal injury firm since 2008, having joined in 2005.
John Spencer, who has served as Chief Executive Officer for the last five years, becomes the Chairman of Spencers Solicitors.
Robert has worked closely with John throughout his term, with regard to all decision making effecting the practice, particularly around the firm’s strategic development. A Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualified accountant, Robert in addition has a wealth of management experience having run the finance function for five CS2 companies (renamed Spencers) reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of a FTSE 250 and having been Head of Spencers’ Chesterfield office, leading on HR, administration, facilities functions as well as finance.
Before joining Spencers, Robert worked for Vesuvius, a worldwide manufacturer and supplier to the steel, glass, aluminium and cement industries, and held several on-site managerial posts with responsibility for financial matters.
He is Treasurer and a Board member of the Chesterfield Volunteer Centre, a not for profit organisation, specialising in matching volunteers to suitable charitable projects in the North Derbyshire area.
Robert’s new position will see him responsible for continuing to strengthen Spencers Solicitors foothold in the personal injury market. Throughout his eight-year tenure with the firm he has implemented a number of financial strategies that have driven significant cost savings and allowed the Spencers Solicitors team the freedom to pursue a specialisation into the most serious personal injury cases. Robert has also played a leading role in helping to re-orientate Spencer’s resources and talent to face the modern legal landscape.
John will continue as director of the company, and be closely involved in strategic and business development, working with Robert and other members of the Board to ensure continued success.
