Quittance launches no win no fee injury claim checker

Quittance [1]Quittance Legal Services [2] has rolled out a new web app that tells claimants whether they may be eligible to make a no win, no fee injury claim [3] through a solicitor.

The No Win, No Fee Claim Injury Checker has been built using Quittance’s existing claim calculator technology, and development is ongoing.

Chris Salmon, a director of Quittance, said:

“It’s an understatement to say we’re living in uncertain times. We’ve seen that some claimants are anxious about their eligibility to claim, and about the impact the claim could have on other parties. The No Win, No Fee Injury Claim Checker has been developed to help provide information, clarity and confidence to potential claimants.”

The tool considers the circumstances of a claimant’s injury or illness and provides an indication of whether their claim is likely to be taken on by a solicitor on a no win, no fee basis. The tool also gives insights into how a no win, no fee claim works.

Quittance identified split liability as a topic of particular confusion. Many injured claimants mistakenly identified their case as having fault on both sides. Some believed that it was not possible to claim if there was doubt as to who was responsible. The claim checker identifies claimants with these anxieties and aims to educate them as to their rights regarding compensation.

The tool had to be modified shortly before the planned go-live date, following the late-April announcement of the delayed implementation of the whiplash reform programme.

“Once the impact of the coming reforms is clearer, we will roll out updates to the checker and to our calculator to help claimants navigate the changes. In the interim, we’re continuing to enhance the no win, no fee claim checker to help injured people make informed decisions about their options for compensation,” Chris Salmon added.
