Quill celebrates its 45th anniversary

QuillQuill announces its 45th anniversary in 2023 as a legal software and outsourcing service provider, making it the longest-established, independently owned supplier in the law sector.

Since its inception in 1978, Quill has successfully grown from a niche software company supplying programmable calculators and word processing programs for solicitors to a formidable one-stop shop of integrated software-and-outsourcing-service solutions for the full spectrum of law firms.

Quill continues to heavily invest in product development and innovation, evidenced by the recent launch of MyQuill, its 5th generation of browser-based integrated legal accounts, case and document management software designed to cater for the legal practice of the future built with compliance at its core.

The company also offers an extensive range of outsourcing services including accounts and cashiering, typing and transcription, post room, payroll and pension management support. As the only outsourced service organisation recommended by the Law Society of England and Wales, law firms are able to take comfort in both their data and back-office functions being in safe hands.

In its 45 years in business, Quill has flourished into a 110-strong team centred on offices in Manchester and Liverpool, with a client base totalling 11,000 users across 1,000 clients, along the way gathering a raft of awards from the likes of Best Companies and the Institute of Legal Finance and Management.

Tom Wormald, Quill’s Managing Director, comments:

“Quill’s experienced phenomenal growth, due in no small part to our identification of marketplace opportunities for new-and-enhanced software and service solutions which directly address the pain points of legal professionals. We’ve earned an enviable reputation as a trusted ally for law firms keen to operate smoother and smarter by using our front- and back-office toolkit.

“Our continued investment in our product and people ensures we’re a step ahead of our competition in terms of client satisfaction, service delivery quality and staff retention. On our landmark birthday, we’re grateful to our clients and employees alike for their ongoing loyalty and dedication respectively – without whom, quite simply, there would be no Quill.”

Anthony Davies, Quill’s Sales Manager, states:

“Having worked at Quill since 2007, progressing through the ranks, I’ve seen first hand our organisation’s evolution and progression into the force of nature we are now. Our longevity, stability and continual advancement is hugely reassuring to an industry whose narrative has been scripted by change.

“45 years is a huge achievement and demonstrates that legal tech providers only thrive and survive when they constantly invest their profits directly into their products in order for them to be ahead of the curve by addressing clients’ needs and wants. Quill has offered an all-in-one, fully integrated, browser-based legal accounts, case and document management system for ten years, and the rest of the market is now playing catch up. We remain the only software house with a catalogue of outsourcing services under our remit too. That’s another of our unique identifiers as we’re aware of the pressures our clients face and are uniquely placed to provide support through either software or outsourced services.

“Our sales team has doubled in the last 18 months and possesses a combined 60+ years of industry experience. Our regional sales consultants have sold nearly every case management and legal accounts application available which allows us to adopt a real consultative approach when helping law firms choose the right solution for their business.”
