Quill has hired seasoned professional, Doug Convery, to join its sales team in a newly created regional sales consultant position and drive further business growth while supporting its strategic direction for continued market share expansion.
The news comes at a time when Quill has promoted two existing employees, Anthony Davies to sales manager and added Becky Thomas as client account manager to the team, thereby doubling its sales resource in a 12-month period.
Doug moves to Quill from 15 years at SOS Legal where he was responsible for managing sales within UK-based SME law firms and boasts an additional five years of experience in the legal field prior to this.
Having been appointed by Quill in July 2021, Doug’s role is to empower law firms to operate at optimum levels of efficiency by utilising the best combination of legal practice management software and outsourced legal services from Quill’s extensive portfolio, based upon each practice’s unique needs and pain points.
Doug’s arrival at Quill deliberately coincides with the company’s refined focused on meeting the sector’s evolving demands for functionality-rich, cloud-hosted software and back-office outsourcing services – both of which have increased in popularity since the Covid-19 pandemic, and its ensuing home- or hybrid-set up requirements and staff shortages.
Doug commented: “I am extremely excited to come on board the Quill family, working with the recently promoted Anthony and Becky, as well as Jo Poole, to collaboratively expand Quill’s client base as a four-strong team.
My job is as much about new business development as it is about customer care and retention. As such, I’ll be forging productive relationships with both audiences – potential and current clients – and ensuring the products chosen deliver real, tangible value to every end-user.
I look forward to working closely with stakeholders internal and external to the business, leveraging my industry experience, developing my Quill knowledge and strengthening sales alongside my colleagues.”
Quill’s Managing Director, Julian Bryan, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Doug into the Quill fold. He has settled in really well and it feels as if he has been with us for a long time already. Anthony and Becky equally are thriving in their new jobs also. Quill is all the better for having Doug in situ, along with Anthony and Becky in their posts, as we are able to boost sales and achieve our revenue objectives. The sector is all the better for these personnel changes too as it’s helping Quill to address their changing software and service requirements.”
