QualitySolicitors Davisons achieve Lexcel

Centre for AssessmentBirmingham’s QualitySolicitors Davisons are an award winning high street firm with six offices across the city. Specialising in residential conveyancing, they also practice in a number of other areas including litigation, family, personal injury, wills and probate, as well as acting for local businesses.

Since achieving Lexcel accreditation in 2015, Davisons has three times been shortlisted for Birmingham Law Society’s Law Firm of the Year.

The firm’s commitment to developing staff and internal processes in order to improve client care has seen them receive a number of other accolades in recent years. The firm has regularly featured in LFS’s annual awards including winning Regional Conveyancing Firm of the Year (Wales and West Midlands) in 2013 and being Highly Commended for the same award in 2016.

Director Samantha Ingram said, “We wanted consistency across all of our offices so that everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet. Lexcel is definitely a good framework for that. Everyone knows what it is and it’s a good reassurance for clients and introducers.”

Consistency of processes across offices hasn’t been the only benefit that the firm has seen. “Risk is very well considered in the standard, there are things we wouldn’t have initially thought about which we’re pleased to have now implemented. The Financial section of the standard has also been particularly useful in giving the board of directors a firm agenda to consider at regular intervals.

Samantha also notes that having an external assessor has been a worthwhile exercise. “A fresh pair of eyes is always helpful. Our assessor has been great. She is always organised and has a plan to work to which has meant we’ve always been able to have the relevant information to hand and there haven’t been any surprises.  She’s been easy to communicate with and definitely knows her stuff. We’ve always taken on board her suggestions for best practice.”

CfA would like to congratulate QualitySolicitors Davisons on December’s successful Lexcel assessment and wish them all the best with 2017’s awards nominations.
