Qanooni AI announces category defining legal AI integration with Actionstep, unifying the work and practice of law

Qanooni AI [1], the legal AI platform built natively within Microsoft 365, today announced a global integration with Actionstep, a leading provider of cloud-based practice management software for midsize law firms. Through this integration, Qanooni AI aims to bring its category defining legal AI to an ecosystem that unifies the work of law with the practice of law in a single connected environment.

Actionstep  powers and automates the management and operations of law, handling client intake, matters, documents, client communications, billing, client accounting, compliance, and workflows. Qanooni focuses on the work of law itself, enabling lawyers to draft, review, research and summarise directly inside Microsoft Word and Outlook with AI that understands each firm’s language, tone and standards. The integration brings these capabilities together in one system.

Through Qanooni’s secure integrations with leading document management systems, firms can maintain their institutional knowledge and writing style. Actionstep supplies operational context—client details, matter stage, deadlines, risk settings, billing structures—which Qanooni’s AI uses this context to generate responses, drafts and insights that align with each firm’s internal playbooks, precedents and processes. The result is a unified workspace where firm management, legal work and AI support one another.

Ziyaad Ahmed, Co Founder of Qanooni AI, said:

“Actionstep has built one of the most complete environments for running a modern law firm. Qanooni complements that by powering the work of law: drafting, analysis and research, with AI that preserves each firm’s unique voice. By integrating with Actionstep, we are ensuring that as firms become more efficient, they do not lose what makes their work distinct.”

Rob Lawson, Head of Sales and Partnerships at Qanooni AI, added:

“This integration means firms can move from managing matters to executing legal work without breaking flow. Actionstep informs Qanooni with live operational context from the firm, while Qanooni ensures that every output, every clause, every memo, every email, reflects how that firm speaks and serves its clients.”

For law firms, the integration is designed to reduce context switching, eliminate repetitive data entry and improve quality and consistency, while keeping a full audit trail of AI assisted work within the Actionstep matter. For law firm consulting partners, the integration provides a clear foundation for them to help firms build on connected solutions that span firm management, work product, and AI.

The integration between Qanooni AI and Actionstep is in active development and will be available to users beginning in early 2026. Firms can register for early access at http://www.qanooni.ai/actionstep [2].
