Post-walk: London Legal Walk delivers another landmark year of support for Access to Justic

LLST - london legal support trustThe annual London Legal Walk has once again brought together the legal community in remarkable numbers, highlighting its enduring commitment to access to justice. This year’s event saw more than 19,500 walkers from over 1,200 organisations take part, including law firms, chambers, advice agencies, and universities. Solicitors, barristers, judges, and their families and colleagues walked side by side in a powerful show of solidarity.

With record levels of participation, the Walk has already raised an impressive £900,000. With donations still coming in, total fundraising is expected to surpass £1 million once again, demonstrating the generosity and determination of the legal community to support those in need of free legal advice.

“The London Legal Walk continues to show what the legal community can achieve when it comes together. Behind these incredible figures are thousands of people whose lives will be changed for the better. At a time when demand for free legal advice is rising sharply, this support is more important than ever, helping advice charities keep their doors open and ensuring that those facing some of life’s toughest challenges can access the justice they deserve. We cannot thank our participants and supporters enough for their unwavering commitment” – Nezahat Cihan, CEO of London Legal Support Trust

The London Legal Walk represents far more than a single day. It provides vital funding to free legal advice charities at a time of increasing demand. As tensions rise and pressures on individuals and families increase, more people are turning to these services for help with housing, employment, debt, immigration, and welfare issues. At the same time, advice organisations face persistent challenges, including limited funding, hostile environments, rising costs, and ongoing skills shortages across the sector.

From its launch in 2005 to 2025, the Walk has raised over £12.5 million, supporting more than 100 frontline advice charities each year. These organisations provide essential support to some of the most vulnerable people in society, helping to ensure that access to justice remains a reality, not a privilege.

Thank you to everyone who walked, fundraised, volunteered and donated; your collective effort continues to make a real and lasting difference.
