the national will register new logo 2022The National Will Register [1] has launched a new online platform providing Will Search and Will Registration services with enhanced search, registration and navigation functionality along with a new resource library. Following its acquisition by Advanced, a leading provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM) and vertical market software solutions last year, The National Will Register has evolved its service for the Wills and Probate industry to offer an easy-to-use interface and customisable features.

Used by the legal profession, Will writers, PI insurers, government agencies, charities and the general public, The National Will Register is the UK’s only trusted provider of Will registration and Certainty Will Search service with over 9.4 million Wills registered and approximately 48% of all Wills in existence in the UK.

The National Will Register, is the central and integral platform for members of the public seeking advice, support services and accurate information when dealing with a bereavement, facing a contentious situation and when thinking about end-of-life administrative activities such as writing a Will. The National Will Register additionally provides the Certainty Will Search service to support Deputies and Attorneys in making informed decisions.

In 2020, 20% of estates searched against had an unknown Will attached to them. This was either a later Will being found revoking the Will to be used or the estate was believed to be intestate when a Will was found to exist following the Search.

Karan Liddar, Operations Director of The National Will Register, comments

“We wanted to make this as simple and intuitive as possible for all our users. It was also vital to demonstrate the importance of registering your Will so that it can be acted upon and your wishes respected when it is needed while making searching for a Will when faced with a bereavement as stress free as possible, to ensure the last Will is recognised.”

Supported by Advanced’s powerful new systems, this evolution has been designed with ease of use in mind, offering quick and easy step-by-step navigation to register and search for Wills as well as a wide range of useful resources for all users to better navigate the Wills and probate industry.

Subscribing law firms also have access to a new TOUCH platform and Find a Solicitor service, providing the full range of services offered by The National Will Register to further support their clients and connect members of the public to the law firm seeking their services.

Doug Hargrove, Managing Director, Legal and Education, Advanced commented: “This has been a tremendously rewarding project enabling an already vital service become more accessible and easy to use for both legal professionals and members of the public alike.  As well as speeding up the process of searching for a Will, it also ensures accuracy of information for all users and we have also been able to incorporate additional advice and information resources to guide users through the process of seeking to resolve dispute or indeed to track down the existence of a Will.
