Moneypenny – the UK’s leading telephone answering specialist which supports over 900 law firms and is endorsed by the Law Society – has today unveiled its designs for an extraordinary new £15m headquarters which aims to rival the likes of Google and Apple.

The office, which is being built in Wrexham, will boast a treehouse, a village pub, and an impressive triple height 8,000 sq ft atrium with a restaurant and stadium seating.

It will also enjoy a 10 acre plot with nature trails, orchards, vegetable gardens and stunning views over the surrounding countryside.

Ed Reeves, co-founder and director of Moneypenny, has been responsible for spear-heading the flagship project. He says: “We’re thrilled to unveil the designs for our new headquarters. This marks the start of an exciting new stage in Moneypenny’s life and we’re confident it will be one of the most advanced buildings of its kind in the UK.”

Ed, who describes the development as “10 acres of dreamland”, adds: “We literally sat down with a blank piece of paper and asked ourselves what we could do with these 10 acres of dream Greenfield land? The answer was to create our ideal home – somewhere exciting and innovative, yet practical. The manufacturing industry has long been building commercial premises to suit its needs, but up until now, most offices just follow a standard template. We wanted to change this and rip up the rule book.”

More akin to something you’d find in London or Silicon Valley, every inch of the 91,000 sq ft building has been designed to cater for the needs of Moneypenny’s employees and clients. This includes creating the perfect environment for call handling, and Moneypenny – who worked with AEW Architects on the project – tasked expert sound engineers to create bespoke technology that will absorb sound and eliminate background noise.

Ed continues: “It was our vision to create not just the best office for us, but the best office in the UK, and we are determined to achieve this. The development has already been likened to a ‘Google of the North’ which is a huge compliment, but we’d actually like to venture one step further and say that our new campus will be even better. Not only will our staff have all the benefits of an amazing office, but they’ll also be able to enjoy a peaceful countryside setting. For us, creating the perfect office is miles away from a city centre postcode.”

With space to house up to 1,000 staff who will be representing thousands of UK businesses, the development demonstrates a significant investment for the company and its clients.

Moneypenny’s commercial director, Joanna Swash, is thrilled with the plans. She explains: “From the outset it’s been Moneypenny’s aim to deliver an excellent service and set the benchmark for our industry. Our new headquarters will be a natural progression of this and we will be able to offer our legal clients, who account for the majority of our business, a truly unrivalled environment in which to handle their calls.”

The new campus will also be one of the most environmentally sustainable commercial projects in the country. By using rainwater recycling, solar energy, ground source heating and natural ventilation for climate control, the company aims to be almost entirely self-sufficient.

This latest announcement comes on the back of the company’s launch into the US market in February, and scooping 4th place in The Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ 2015 rankings.

Work is expected to be finished on the development in spring 2016.
