Lyons Bowe adopts SOS Connect to kick-start next growth phase

SOS200 [1]Somerset law firm Lyons Bowe has signed up to SOS Connect [2] from Solicitors Own Software [3] (SOS) for practice and case management as it gears up for growth.

The firm was only established 18 months ago but already employs 13 members of staff, including its two partners, and has opened two offices in Shepton Mallet, with plans for another office elsewhere in the near future.

Most of Lyons Bowe’s work centres around property, including conveyancing, commercial property and development and litigation, and it also has a family law team.

“It became apparent that the system we had been using in the firm since we established the business in November 2014 was not very ‘user friendly’,” says managing partner Paul Lyons.

“We wanted to find an alternative which would enable us to look at everything we do, for example in conveyancing, and then process and commoditise that service in an efficient way. Then we wanted that system installed without lots of add-ons and inconvenience so that it was as user friendly as possible for all our members of staff.

“SOS Connect covered all those bases. It came across as being very clean, crisp and modern and it was easy for our people to understand. I was also very impressed by the people at SOS who were very responsive to our initial enquiries.

“As a modern law firm our next target is to become paperless and SOS Connect will also enable us to do that. We are ambitious and this marks the next stage in our growth. Once SOS Connect is fully in place and everything has been standardised across the firm, I’m sure we will want to develop its capability further.”

Graham Colbourne, managing director of SOS, said: “Increasingly, law firms demand a high degree of agility and flexibility in their business model and SOS Connect can provide this. As Lyons Bowe grows and evolves in the coming years, SOS Connect can adapt with it as changing circumstances demand.”
