Legal EyeLegal Eye has been announced as the latest organisation to support the new customer service awards for the conveyancing sector launch by The ESTAS Group.

The ESTAS Group already runs the largest national customer feedback scheme and awards for estate agents which is now in its 14th year.  The awards are unique in the industry, rating firms based on data received from an online survey submitted by customers who have experienced a complete service from the firm in question.  The feedback and award scheme is already backed by the Conveyancing Association, The Society of Licensed Conveyancers, Bold Legal Group and Solicitors Journal.  The headline sponsor is SearchFlow the market leading provider of conveyancing search solutions in the UK.

Simon Brown, Founder of The ESTAS said “The ESTAS Awards are unique as winners are selected purely on customer feedback so they provide a kite mark of excellent service for any property professional involved in the home moving process.  We believe the time is right to launch a dedicated scheme for conveyancers and the support we have received has underlined our belief that there is a real desire from the sector to embrace these awards.  It’s also fantastic that a company of Legal Eye’s stature is on board as one of our ESTAS Partners in our first year.”

Paul Saunders, Managing Director at Legal eye said “As legal compliance and best practice specialists, combined with a 7 year history of working with some of the largest conveyancers in the sector, we are delighted to be supporting The ESTAS. Best practice and customer service go hand in hand which is why we are particularly pleased to be involved in the inaugural ESTAS Conveyancer Awards.”

Entry to the awards are now open and there are categories for single branch firms, regional groups and national firms.  Benefits to conveyancers start as soon as they register with a range of marketing tools including a service themed social media campaign and customer feedback reports.  The inaugural awards ceremony will take place on Friday 20th October at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane London.  The event will be hosted by The ESTAS brand ambassador Phil Spencer.

Spencer, the UK’s best loved TV Property Expert said “Taking part in The ESTAS sets firms apart from their competitors.  It sends a clear message that they are passionate about customer service, prepared to go that extra mile for their clients and keen to listen to feedback.  The ESTAS help firms to focus on service levels and raise standards across the property sector that we all work in.”

‘No, minister – CMCs are not the answer to your problem’

Qamar Anwar 2

Last month, MPs on the justice select committee asked minister Lord Keen what would happen when the government went ahead with its plan to raise the small claims limit for personal injury claims (from £1,000 to £5,000 for road traffic related claims and to £2,000 for everything else). As it is a jurisdiction in which lawyers do not generally operate – because legal costs are not recoverable – who might help claimants navigate what can still be a complex process? His answer, surprisingly, was claims management companies.
