Legal 500 hails Hudgell Solicitors a ‘firmly established national leader’ as firm recognised for expertise in London

Amanda StevensHudgell Solicitors is ‘firmly established as a national leader’ in supporting people who suffer life-changing injuries and now has a ‘growing national reputation’ for police misconduct claims, a leading legal guide says.

The firm, led by founder and managing director Neil Hudgell and chief executive Amanda Stevens – who is described by the newly published Legal 500  guide as ‘in a class of her own’ and ‘more than value for money’ – has been ranked for its work in both clinical negligence and personal injury claims in London for the first time.

It comes as the firm has once again been listed for its work in its long-established bases in Yorkshire, and as Head of Travel Litigation Paul McClorry has again been identified as a ‘leading individual’ in recognition of the firm’s work supporting those seriously injured abroad.

Mrs Stevens says the inclusion of the firm in London’s rankings reflects the progress of the business in the south of England, with a number of key specialists in the firm’s Fleet Street office also specifically recommended by the guide.

“This is a tremendous achievement for the firm given we have had a very clear strategy in recent years to develop the expertise of our team in London and the south, whilst not losing focus in our heartland areas in the North,” she said.

“That strategy has seen us recruit some very talented lawyers to the team both in our traditional areas of work such as clinical negligence and personal injury but also move into new areas such as our civil liberties, police misconduct and travel litigation work.

“It is particularly pleasing to see us referenced as one of the country’s most progressive specialists, and that we have followed a clear strategy as a rehabilitation-led injury practice, as we feel that is what sets us apart from the competition.

“It is our progressive approach that steers us through what can be an uncertain industry, and our commitment to clients which keeps people turning to our expertise.”

‘Outstanding London Lawyers recommended’

Featured as recommended lawyers in London are experienced medical negligence specialists Jodi Newton and Josie Robinson, and personal injury specialist Kent Pattinson.

Mr Pattinson, who supports many people who have suffered catastrophic injuries in high-value and complex cases, is described by the guide as ‘outstanding’.

The guide says the firm delivers on its promise to help injured people rebuild their lives by providing access to ‘joined-up, reliable rehabilitation services that are personalised and consistent’, highlighting its support of those who suffer brain and spinal injuries alongside organ transplant surgery, nursing errors, claims against fertility clinics, plastic surgery, and dentistry matters.

“It is also fantastic to see our position in Yorkshire and the Humber strengthening from year to year,” added Mrs Stevens.

“Whilst we have been keen to expand into new areas and establish ourselves in the capital, this is a clear endorsement that we have not only maintained our standards in the north, but continued to develop and improve.

“It is a ringing endorsement of our work across the entire business and that is something we can feel very proud of as a firm.”
