BTO Solicitors LLP, a leading independent Scottish Law firm with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, has chosen an Infrastructure as a Service offering from Converge Technology Specialists, the only cloud provider dedicated to UK law firms.  The solution will provide the 250-strong team with a robust and agile environment for their financial management software and other applications used by the firm.

BTO was keen to implement an agile and highly available solution that enables the firm to provide exceptional service to clients and meets the performance requirements of the three enterprise applications it has put in place.  The firm also wanted to ensure that there was a robust business continuity and disaster recovery solution in place.  Following a competitive tender, BTO selected a Managed Infrastructure Service from Converge TS.

Douglas Cowie, BTO’s Chief Executive, explained: “Client satisfaction is of the upmost importance to our firm.  To enable our teams to respond to client queries quickly and to continue to deliver excellent customer service, it is vital that we have reliable and secure systems which can be accessed from any location.  We chose to work with Converge TS as a result of their strong legal sector knowledge, compliant UK data centres and their experience with Thomson Reuters enterprise applications.”

“The Hosted Solution will provide us with the scalability and flexibility we require. It will integrate with our existing system and it will maximise the success of the deployment of our financial management software.  As it is a fully-managed solution, our IT team will be free to focus on other value added tasks which contribute directly to customer delivery.”

Nigel Wright, founder and managing director of Converge TS, said “We’re delighted to be working with BTO and to be providing them with a Managed Hosted Service.  The firm is focussed on delivering an exceptional service for its clients and a hosted solution provides the agility, accessibility and reliability that their teams require.”.

As it is a jurisdiction in which lawyers do not generally operate – because legal costs are not recoverable – who might help claimants navigate what can still be a complex process? His answer, surprisingly, was claims management companies.
