Lawyer Checker  are collaborating with Legal Ombudsman to help protect law firms through an interactive webinar about how best to protect themselves from cybercrime and what to do if you are a victim to a cyberattack.
The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) predicted the cost of probate fraud at £150 million – stating that 1 in 2 professionals have come across probate fraud. Also, West Midlands Police Cyber Crime Unit reported that £11 million of client money was compromised last year. While the FCA believes that there are at least 1400 organised crime gangs targeting law firms.
Key Relationship Executive, Tom Lyes from Lawyer Checker will be joined by Joshua Jackson from Legal Ombudsman. They will discuss the ever-increasing rise in complaints to the Legal Ombudsman due to cyber crime. The aim of the webinar is to provide practical, jargon free advice for small to large firms about how they can protect themselves from fraud and cybercrime and what to do if the worse happens and they encounter a cyber attack.
