Landmark Information Group appointed to provide geospatial data processing services to Ordnance Survey

Landmark new logoLandmark Information Group [1] has today announced that it has been appointed as one of three suppliers to deliver geospatial data processing services under Ordnance Survey’s (OS) new Geospatial Content Enhancement Framework (GCE), which underpins the maintenance and continuous improvement of the OS National Geographic Database (NGD).

Under the GCE Framework, Landmark, working in partnership with RMSI, a global geospatial and engineering services provider, will provide high quality, large-scale geospatial data management services that support OS to supply better data to more destinations. Services delivered through the framework will directly contribute to OS’s National Cyclic Revision (NCR) programme an ongoing process to update geospatial data across Great Britain, data improvement initiatives, and other core update activities that ensure the OS NGD remains accurate, current and fit for the needs of the UK’s digital economy.

Landmark’s appointment builds on its prior experience supporting OS with largescale national dataset maintenance.  Through that experience, Landmark has demonstrated its capability to manage complex geospatial workflows, deliver high volumes of updates, and meet strict accuracy and quality requirements.

The OS NGD is a critical national asset, supporting services and enabling innovation across sectors including infrastructure, planning, utilities, environmental management and property. By contributing to the delivery of OS’s core update programmes within the GCE, Landmark will help ensure Great Britain’s foundational geospatial data remains authoritative, up to date and aligned with the evolving needs of users across the public and private sectors.

Richard Cooper, Operations Director at Landmark Information Group, said:

“We are pleased to have been appointed to support Ordnance Survey in maintaining the National Geographic Database.

Landmark has a long-established track record in managing and processing complex geospatial data, and this appointment recognises the strength of our technical capability, data governance standards and commitment to the quality outputs. High integrity, authoritative location data is fundamental to national infrastructure and economic activity, and we are proud to contribute our expertise to supporting Ordnance Survey in sustaining and evolving Great Britain’s core geospatial datasets now and into the future.”

David Dibble, Geospatial Supply Chain Manager at Ordnance Survey, said:

“Ordnance Survey would like to welcome Landmark onto the new GCE Framework, which will build on a strong history of collaboration, shared values and consistent delivery.  Their proven geospatial expertise and commitment to quality align well with OS ambitions for this new Framework.

OS looks forward to working closely with Landmark over the next four years, to drive innovation, deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and maximise value as part of our supply chain operations.”

This appointment builds on Landmarks previous experience delivering services for Ordnance Survey, with a clear focus on performance, delivery and supporting the UK’s national geospatial infrastructure over the term of the agreement.
