We are excited to be hosting our flagship annual conference on Thursday May 22, 2025 at The Law Society, London. The conference will bring together the brightest minds and most innovative thinkers in the legal finance and management sector for a day of insight, knowledge sharing and discussion.
We are delighted to confirm that renowned legal sector Management Consultant and Author of “The Perfect Legal Business”, “The Perfect Lawyer” & “The Perfect Partner” Simon McCrum will be our keynote speaker for 2025.
Having led what was the UK’s fastest-growing law firm, via McCrum Legal and The McCrum Academy, Simon now helps teams and firms to become The Perfect Legal Business and will be sharing insights from his latest book.
We have a further fantastic array of speakers lined up including:
Jonathan Chambers, Forensic Investigation Manager, Solicitor’s Regulation Authority
Jonathan has worked in the SRA’s Forensic Investigation Team for 17 years. He was an investigator for 10 years, subsequently becoming a Team Manager. His Team investigates a range of regulatory issues with a particular focus on compliance with the Accounts Rules and the safeguarding of client money. Prior to the SRA, Jonathan worked as a finance director outside the legal profession. Combined with his accounting background, this gives him an enhanced insight into the financial management of law firms and the technical issues involved in the investigation of Accounts Rules compliance.
Mark Hailwood, Senior Director of Product, Dye & Durham
Mark has extensive expertise in the fields of legal, conveyancing, software, and AI, with over 15 years of hands-on experience spanning multiple industries and countries. He will be talking on the topical subject of AI – a threat or opportunity?
Amy Bell, Chair of the Law Society’s Economic Crime Task Force
Amy will be providing our delegates with an update on AML. After a year of back to back AML fines, where are we heading from here? How are firms leaving themselves open to fines? With a potential change of supervisors and Regulations and a government calling for a Money Laundering Offence the focus won’t shift for a while. We will examine what needs to be on your AML to do list this year.
A panel session hosted by Arunn Ramadoss, Head of Marketing at Legl and including Marcus Oulds, VP of Sales, Legal, Charlie Kraus, Platform & Industry Lead, Adyen and Jason Parry, Head of Finance and COFA, Doyle Clayton.
The panel will consider the evolving role of finance in law firms, and how they can transform from a potential bottleneck to a business enabler, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and driving firm-wide profitability.
Lucy Brennan, Partner, Saffery
Lucy advises individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies on their personal and business financial and taxation affairs.
As we come into the season for SRA accountant’s reports she will review what pitfalls were seen last year, common mistakes, and how to rectify, combined with a consideration of the consumer protection review on the model of solicitors holding client money.
Workshops from:
Kevin Horlock, CEO, LSSA (Legal Software Suppliers Association) on getting the right legal software and how the right software can transform your working life and the success of your firm.
