Irwin Mitchell to merge Southampton offices

Irwin MitchellGrowing Law Firm Consolidates Expertise Under One Roof At Brunel House

Growing law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced that its two Southampton offices are set to merge, in a move which will consolidate its vast expertise of both business and personal legal services under one roof in the heart of the city.

The firm is to bring its operations at Ocean Village into its existing office at Brunel House, which became part of Irwin Mitchell following its merger with Thomas Eggar LLP in November 2015.

The move marks another major development for the law firm’s presence on the South Coast, which was first established in February 2014 and now employs 60 members of staff in Southampton in total. The firm has also just won large law firm of the year at the Hampshire Law Society Awards.

Under the changes, Irwin Mitchell’s consolidated Southampton office will continue to offer a range of business and personal legal services, with Legal 500 awarding top-tier rankings to practice areas including Contentious Probate, Sport, Agriculture and Estates and Personal Injury (Claimant).

The office is also hard at work raising funds for its Charity of the Year for 2017, which is the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Guy Darlaston, the Regional Managing Partner for Irwin Mitchell’s combined Southampton operation, said: “We have enjoyed a hugely successful few years in the city since our launch three years ago, during which time we have grown considerably . Following our Thomas Eggar merger, it simply makes sense to bring all of our expertise under one roof as part of the ongoing integration of services.

“We are now looking forward to enjoying more growth and working closer together to the ultimate benefit of all of our clients.

“This new Southampton operation, combined with our presence in Newbury, Chichester and Crawley, means Irwin Mitchell is now undoubtedly one of the leading law firms on the south coast.”
