With just four weeks remaining until the London Legal Walk 2024, the excitement and anticipation within the legal community are evident. This year, as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the London Legal Support Trust, we stand at the cusp of making history with our collective effort to ensure access to justice for the most in need. We are on track to see participation from over 16,000 individuals, making this year’s walk a historic event.
Since 2004, the London Legal Support Trust has been a beacon of hope to advice agencies in London and the South East, working to combat the challenges posed by funding cuts and the ever-increasing need for free legal advice. To date, our flagship event, the London Legal Walk, has raised over £10.5 million, playing a pivotal role in our mission.
The countdown begins
Scheduled for 18th June 2024, this year’s Walk is not just a fundraising event; it’s a clarion call to solicitors, barristers, judges, law students, and the entire legal profession, including their families and colleagues, to step forward in solidarity. As we approach 900 teams and reflect on the growth from the first walk of 350 people, our goal is to break last year’s fundraising record and raise £1 million for the first time in celebration of our 20th anniversary.
Making an impact where it matters most
Amid a persistent cost-of-living crisis and alarming statistics revealing one-third of people in England and the South East face unmet legal needs, our efforts are more critical than ever. Our projects, including the Advice Workforce Development Fund, and Cost of Living Project, make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

The provision of free legal advice is key to ensuring those who would not be able to afford it still have access justice. The unrestricted funding raised through the London Legal Walk is vital for over 100 free legal advice agencies we support through this event. What better way to raise money for a good cause than by enjoying yourself at the same time?
