CW Fellowes and Lloyds Banking Group get solicitors ‘market-smart’ to help them face economic challenges

CW Fellowes and Lloyds Banking Group [1] are inviting legal minds across the south to attend a seminar, aimed at enabling them to tackle challenges facing their sector, while finding new business opportunities. This event will be taking place on Wednesday 9 October at the Solent Hotel in Whiteley.

David Gilroy, Sales and Marketing Director and co-founder of Conscious Solutions, a company that specialises in providing marketing solutions for legal firms, will provide the attendees with simple and effective lead generation ideas, in his talk – “10 practical marketing ideas your firm can be doing by 5.00 p.m. on a Friday”.

He has a strong understanding of what is required to hit new business sales targets. Having worked with over 400 law firms in the past, he is also well-versed in the requirements and constraints that face the profession. Gilroy is a renowned speaker at legal marketing events, and often writes for PM Forum and for The Internet Newsletter for Lawyers.

The second guest speaker is David Page, a Senior Macroeconomist from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking (LBCM), who will be giving a talk on “UK Economic Update – Recovery starts to beat expectations”.

Page, who was ranked ‘Number 1 UK Forecaster’ in 2011 by Bloomberg, provides UK macroeconomic advice to the bank’s commercial clients, as well as those in financial institutions and major corporations.

Speaking of the event, Managing Director at CW Fellowes, Adam Wilson said, “We have aimed the seminar at supporting the legal profession through a period of unprecedented change, by introducing them to businesses that could assist with whatever issues they are facing.”

Jennie Cartwright, Professional Practices Relationship Manager at Lloyds Banking Group added, “We are delighted to get David Page to come and speak for us – he is very much in demand and having heard him speak before he manages to make economics easy to understand and relate it to things that affect us all in our day to day life be it business or home.”

CW Fellowes acts for a growing number of solicitor practices and have built a well-established team with an in-depth knowledge in this specialist area. They are members of the Solicitors Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and members of the Association of Partnership Practitioners.

Lloyds Banking Group’s specialist Professional Practices managers are Lexcel Consultants, and both they and their support staff are trained in SRA Accounts Rules.
