Specialist legal expenses insurer, Temple Legal Protection, is delighted to announce the appointment of Calvin Smith. He joins the company as Sales Director and will be based at Temple’s office in central Bristol. Calvin brings a wealth of experience in insurance sales and account management to the business that will further strengthen Temple’s team of insurance experts.

Calvin joins Temple from Allianz plc where he had a number of responsibilities within the legal expenses division in the UK. He was responsible for managing the relationship between Allianz’s legal expenses division and the rest of the Allianz Group in the UK and BTE legal expenses insurance sales via new and existing partners. Prior to Allianz, Calvin has worked in various sales and underwriting roles in the Financial Lines market.

Calvin’s blend of technical knowledge and commercial experience will be key to his role and ensure Temple maintain and develop innovative collaborations with Temple’s target markets.

Commenting on his appointment, Calvin said: “It’s a challenging time in the Legal Expenses insurance industry. Temple is renowned for its innovative approach to product development, and for responding quickly and intelligently to changes in the marketplace. I will be looking for prospective partners who share Temple’s values of fairness, trust and integrity and challenging them to review the performance of their existing LEI provider against what Temple can offer. I am supported by a great team and am very excited about the future.”

“Calvin brings to the business a considerable amount of experience and knowledge within the Legal Expenses Insurance industry, so I am delighted with his appointment,” said Temple’s Managing Director Chris Wait. “Temple firmly believe that the best way to understand our client’s requirements is to develop a strong working relationship with our distribution partners. Calvin’s appointment strengthens this approach further and will help our clients to continue to get the best financial protection from our products.”
