By Lawyers, the global publisher of legal guides, commentaries, forms and precedents announced their arrival in the United Kingdom this month via their strategic partnership with LEAP, the leading legal practice management software provider.

The By Lawyers’ publications are authored by experienced practising UK lawyers and cover all common areas of law in England and Wales. Having proven successful in Australia with more than 3000 firms now using the product, the By Lawyers team have spent the past year preparing for the UK launch. By Lawyers is headed by Christina Grzasko in the UK; she has 25 years’ experience as a legal professional and developer of legal software.

Christina Grzasko, UK managing director of By Lawyers, comments: “We are thrilled to launch By Lawyers in the United Kingdom. Our mission is for lawyers to enjoy practice more and By Lawyers allows this, facilitating the completion of matters for their clients in the most efficient and precise way possible.”

All By Lawyers commentary and related legal forms and precedents are set out logically in a Matter Plan that follows the typical sequence for a matter of that type. All commentaries, documents and matter plans within By Lawyers are kept up to date by legal professionals in line with the latest legislation, practice and procedure.

Grzasko continues: “We provide practical up-to-date legal guides and precedents for lawyers, authored by lawyers. It is this comprehensive, practical and easy to follow guidance that provides such a tremendous tool that is enabling SME law firms to work faster, smarter and more profitably.”

The legal publisher’s integration as a companion product to LEAP allows access to guides and precedents directly from the matter in the LEAP case management system. All the legal letters, forms and precedents are already automated with codes to merge with LEAP, allowing immediate integration. By Lawyers’ precedent integration with LEAP enables quality documents to be produced fast, all of which are saved back to LEAP. Similarly, commentaries are viewed directly from the LEAP matter, helping staff find practical answers quickly and easily with accessible links to relevant legislation and case information.

John Espley, LEAP UK CEO says: “The inclusion of By Lawyers within LEAP is essential to our clients and aligned to our continuing ethos of providing tools that help lawyers perform more effectively. It has proved to be an indispensable companion product to LEAP in Australia and we are delighted that the company is launching in the UK by partnering with LEAP. By Lawyers helps take the stress away, making legal practice enjoyable again.”

By Lawyers also helps to achieve standardisation across the firm, providing reassurance that legal professionals are using the correct precedents and are following the correct processes and eliminating many of the risks of practice.

The guides and precedents make it easier for firms to delegate matters to trainee solicitors and experienced paralegals, allowing senior staff and partners to use their time to undertake more complex work or securing additional business. In addition, the product helps with staff onboarding and training, enabling staff to make better decisions and be more productive sooner.

By Lawyers is a competitively priced subscription-based product which uses a variety of authors, all experienced, practising lawyers and experts in their areas of law. The product is constantly evolving, and often firm suggestions result in amendments to the legal guides, such as new precedents for which a need has been identified.
