Burcher Jennings enters the accountancy profession

Burcher JenningsAccountancy firms are increasingly finding themselves being challenged on hourly billing and other inflexible and outdated pricing models, according to international pricing guru Richard Burcher. Burcher Jennings are being approached by accountancy firms keen to learn lessons drawn from similar disruption to age-old and increasingly discredited pricing models.

Richard Burcher, Chairman of Burcher Jennings, who regularly advises global law firm leadership teams on pricing and is now being approached by accountancy firms seeking his advice, says:

“Debate over the future of hourly billing versus fixed-cost and value-based models has intensified in recent months as accountancy firms react to evolving client demands, new technology and changing business practices.

“Clients are used to unprecedented access to price comparison and transparency in their lives as consumers, and are now demanding ever greater clarity and transparency in their professional lives. Changing a firm’s pricing policy isn’t something that can be achieved overnight, but in a ‘Go Compare world’ not acting is not an option.”

Martyn Jennings, Chief Executive of Burcher Jennings, said: “Our pricing masterclasses are designed to arm professional service firm partners and managers with the confidence, skills and tools to adapt to a world in which clients are demanding the same transparency and competitive approach to pricing in their professional lives as they’ve become used to in their lives as consumers.”

The classes will be led by Nigel Haddon and Richard Allen, Pricing Specialists at Burcher Jennings, drawing on over 30 years of industry experience.

Richard Allen said: “Accountancy firms need to develop pricing strategies to adapt to technological changes and the evolving market. Our Pricing Masterclass is designed to bring clarity, insight and practical guidance for those feeling overwhelmed and underprepared for such as major change.”

Burcher Jennings has a well-established reputation as the leading authority on pricing – and has helped law firms improve their bottom line by as much as 25% through pricing innovation. The firm is now launching pricing masterclasses in the accountancy sector built around the proven and extremely successful teaching methodologies developed over more than two decades by Richard Burcher and his colleagues.
