The Brabners Foundation has reached a major fundraising milestone, pledging donations totalling £251,329 to charities that support local communities in the locations in which Brabners’ colleagues live and work.

Launched in 2019, the Foundation is an independent charity established by Brabners law firm as part of its mission to make the difference. Since then, the Foundation has awarded 97 grants to more than 80 charities across the communities served by each of the firm’s five offices.

Recent donations have supported organisations such as Go Beyond in Leeds, The Manchester Frame Running Club, The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity in Liverpool, and Paws for Kids in Lancashire. The most recent round of donations also included a grant to The Sick Children’s Trust – the Foundation’s first ever grant to a London charity following the opening of Brabners’ London office earlier this year.

Funds are raised across the year through various means including flagship events such as the Foundation’s annual ball. The 2026 ball was held last night at the iconic Manchester Monastery in Gorton in what was the charity’s most successful event to date.

Hayley Morgan, Legal Director at Brabners and Trustee of the Brabners Foundation said: “Brabners is a certified B Corp and we are committed to improving the world around us wherever possible. Previously the firm donated to one chosen charity a year. Now that we have established the Brabners Foundation, we can support a range of charities including smaller organisations delivering extraordinary work in our local communities. As well as the brilliant work of the Foundation, all Brabners colleagues receive two full days of paid volunteering leave each year. With over 600 people across the firm, that’s a huge amount of people power.

“The Foundation could not operate without every individual and every business that has engaged with us in any way, however small. Every single penny raised goes towards supporting charities that are working tirelessly to improve lives, strengthen communities and provide help where it is most needed. I’d like to thank everyone for their generosity and time and for helping us continue to make the difference.”

Nik White, Managing Partner at Brabners said: “Since its inception in 2019, The Brabners Foundation has embodied the very best of our firm and our people. Last night encapsulated that perfectly. It brought together friends of the firm, community members and our people to do something extraordinary: reach over £250,000 in donations. The milestone is the culmination of thousands of acts of generosity, hours of volunteering and planning fundraising events both big and small.

“Beyond the Foundation Ball being a fundraising event, it’s an opportunity for us to shine a light on the smaller charities that our Foundation supports, that are typically grassroots, community-based and often don’t get public funding.

“I want to personally thank everyone on the committee, everyone who came along to support the ball last night and the clients, businesses and supporters of the Foundation whose generosity made this possible.”

Applications for the next round of grant funding from the Brabners Foundation open in July 2027.
