Beaufort Montague Harris sleeker than ever with Virtual Practices

The team at Beaufort Montague Harris Solicitors has opted for the Virtual Practices [1] (VP [2]) and outsourced cashiering service – and reports that its ways of working are more streamlined than ever.

The firm, which has four staff and an office in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol, carries out a range of property, commercial and private client work.

It had used another legal system since 2010 but was finding it difficult to use and over-priced. The firm has now adopted Virtual Practices after a thorough review process and is benefiting from user-friendly fee earner software as well as the additional support of the VP legal cashiering service [3].

Geraint James, founder and principal of Beaufort Montague Harris Solicitors, says: “We had been using a competitor system for a few years but over time it became apparent not only that it wasn’t user-friendly, but also that it was failing to provide value for money.

“VP ticks the boxes in terms of ease of use and cost efficiency; the monthly subscription really suits a firm of our size and comes with the saving involved with outsourcing our legal cashiering.”

Geraint James was also impressed with the migration onto the VP legal software and is already seeing operational improvements at the firm.

“Once we had decided to opt for an alternative, the transfer across to Virtual Practices was pretty seamless and did not take long. Thanks to VP, when it comes to reporting, time recording and billing, our procedures are more streamlined than ever, which enhances the service we provide to our clients. VP has also been a huge help in terms of ensuring we are compliant.”

Natalie Jennings, who heads up Virtual Practices, which is a division of legal software supplier , said: “Virtual Practices is designed for start-up and boutique law firms which are planning to stand out in the legal market. Beaufort Montague Harris is a prime example of a firm that has scrutinised how it  operates, and is already seeing tangible results.”
