Ascent signs major deal to strengthen its field force

Ascent’s new field representatives

Leading debt services provider Ascent Performance Group Limited, part of the Irwin Mitchell Group, has agreed a major five-year contract to recruit 39 field representatives into the firm.

The deal boosts Ascent’s nationwide field force to 55 employed staff, consolidating the firm’s position as the biggest debt related field services provider in the UK with over 30% market share. It will also help realise the firm’s aim to conduct 100,000 home visits per annum from 2015 onwards.

Mark Higgins, chairman at Ascent Performance Group, said: “This deal is a significant step forward in establishing Ascent as the UK’s leading debt services provider.  It’s also an exciting venture, seeing us expand our unsecured field services activity.

“Over time, there will be scope to gradually incorporate the staff into our wider secured field force which already leads the market in providing mortgage-based field activity for the leading high street lenders.”

Of the 39-strong team recruited, 34 are field-based with the rest in management roles.

This latest news comes after Ascent confirmed the acquisition of HL Interactive in March this year, establishing the firm as a market leader among recoveries law firms, particularly in relation to secured lenders. Debt Guard Solicitors, a trading style of Ascent, has also been created, which is an online commercial debt recovery service targeted at the SME market place.

Ascent operates across all the major areas of debt recovery including collections, mediation, litigation, field services and enforcement. Its acquisition of HL Interactive and the recruitment of field representatives has expanded its total workforce to over 200 staff.
