Expert provider of digital estate planning solutions Arken.legal has been announced as the sponsor of the first ever Today’s Wills and Probate Industry Champion Award. The award seeks to recognise an individual who has made both an exceptional and inspiring contribution to the industry throughout what has been a year like no other.
The award is unique in that unlike other categories of The British Wills & Probate Awards, which are decided by a panel of judges, the nomination process and public vote for the Industry Champion award will be open to industry professionals, who will be given the opportunity to honour those who have provided extraordinary support to the wills and probate industry, in addition to the following criteria:
- Putting clients’ interests at the forefront of everything they do
- Transitioning effectively to a remote working environment
- Overcoming challenges with minimal disruption to the outcome of their work
Nominations for the award opened on 21 May, and will close 11 June. The shortlist, comprised by the judging panel will be released 30 August. Industry voting will then remain open until 27 September, ahead of the October ceremony when the winner will be announced.

Champions come in a number of guises, with many too humble to shout about their successes. It’s up to the industry to highlight these individuals and celebrate their achievements.”
Karen Babington, Director of Today’s Wills and Probate says: “We introduced the British Wills and Probate awards four years ago to recognise and reward industry professionals within the sector. Each year we ask ourselves, and you, how we can seek to involve more people who work within wills and probate. After much consideration and consultation, we are over the moon to introduce the Today’s Wills and Probate Industry Champion Award which will now be awarded via your industry vote.”
