ARAG [1] has joined forces with The Purpose Coalition to launch Insuring Justice, a new national campaign demonstrating why legal protection is an essential part of the UK’s social infrastructure. At a time when more people are facing legal problems alone and access to justice has become more challenging, the partnership will highlight how legal insurance can restore rights, prevent crises and reduce pressure on already overstretched public services.
Legal issues touch everyday life, from housing and employment to consumer rights and family matters. For many people and small businesses, navigating these challenges without early advice means problems escalate, financial insecurity worsens, and confidence is lost.
The campaign will show how legal protection puts expert support and guidance within reach, enabling people to act early, resolve disputes quickly and protect their legal position at the moments that matter most. It will also spotlight the social and economic benefits of earlier intervention for employers, communities, local government and the wider justice system.
As one of the UK’s leading organisations working to break down structural barriers to opportunity, The Purpose Coalition will work with ARAG to build greater public and political understanding of the legal insurance sector and its contribution to a fairer, more resilient society.
Through a programme of policy engagement, case studies and sector-wide collaboration, the Insuring Justice campaign will highlight ARAG’s place at the forefront of a modern, prevention-first approach to justice.
Rt Hon Justine Greening, Chair of The Purpose Coalition, said:
“Legal protection is far more than an insurance product. It is a lifeline that helps people assert their rights, avoid crisis and stay securely on their feet. ARAG has shown how legal insurance can deliver real social value by widening access to early advice and easing pressure on the public systems that support us all. This partnership will help put legal confidence at the heart of a fairer economy where everyone has the tools they need to navigate life with security and dignity.”
David Haynes, CEO of ARAG, added:
“This is a truly exciting project and one that we hope will have an enduring impact on everyday justice in the UK. The Purpose Coalition serves a really important role in connecting businesses and helping them to deliver impact beyond their own markets. It’s a privilege to be working with them. ARAG’s mission of extending access to justice as widely as possible has never been more important and this partnership is a great platform to help progress it.”
