Legal expenses and assistance insurer ARAG [1] has appointed Jess Tasney to the new role of sustainability manager, with responsibility for driving the company’s ESG agenda, enhancing reporting, and leading initiatives to deliver positive outcomes for the environment and society.
Jess joins ARAG after nearly three years as carbon reduction and sustainability manager at the University of Worcester, before which she served as senior environment officer with the housing and care provider, Sanctuary, and as environment projects coordinator for Change Agents UK.
Commenting on her appointment, head of people shared services, Ian Screen said: “ARAG is obviously a much bigger business than it was just a couple of years ago, which makes our environmental, social and governance responsibilities more complex, but also much more important.
Jess brings both the experience and the passion to manage this critical aspect of the company’s growth and I’m looking forward to working with her to reach our ambitious targets.
She’s joining ARAG at a really interesting time, as we embark on some genuinely exciting projects that will give us the opportunity to demonstrate true industry leadership.”
Responding to Ian’s comments, Jess added: “Sustainability is inherent to the ARAG Group’s founding principle of providing access to justice for all, and reducing the company’s carbon footprint is enshrined within its 5->30 strategy.
I’m excited to be joining a growing business that has shown real commitment to sustainability, and I look forward to working with colleagues and our customers to explore more ways that we can have a positive impact.”
