Will Aid is a national will-writing campaign that takes place every November. It is designed to raise vital funds for the life-changing work of nine of the UK’s leading charities.
Since Will Aid started in 1988, it has enabled the legal profession to raise over £21 million for good causes and encouraged more than 310,000 people to make their wills.
Participating solicitors volunteer their time and expertise to the initiative, waving their usual fees for writing basic wills. In return, will-makers are asked to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid. Any work carried out in addition to these services can be charged and paid to the firm.
The suggested donations are £100 for a basic single will and £180 for basic mirror wills. Donations are shared between our nine partner charities, helping them continue delivering the vital services they provide.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a detrimental impact on charities funding, which will potentially restrict the number of vulnerable people they are able to help.
If there is one thing that’s certain about the coronavirus pandemic, is that it has given us time to reflect on the fragility of life. And whilst we cannot predict the future, we can be prepared for it by having an up-to-date will.
Every year, the demand for our services increases but due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we foresee this year’s demand being the highest yet with more and more people wanting to get their affairs in order.
We can never meet all the demand we generate, which is why this year of all years, we need more solicitors across the UK to lend their expertise and time to the campaign.
Tallents Solicitors have been taking part in Will Aid for the last six years.

There is no requirement for the amount of time your firm has to contribute, you can write as many Will Aid wills as you like.
