Minerva: A conversation with Tom Lyes from the Armalytix

In the third of our short webinar series with people from our industry, we are going to be chatting with one of our technology partners, Tom Lyes, Head of Legal and Property at Armalytix.

These short snappy, chatty gatherings are our way of bringing to you the experts in their field, a conversation on the things that matter to our sector – how we can continue to grow and manage the pain points, celebrate the challenges, and achieve great things both firm wide and with clients.

So, what is happening with the next one – Thursday 16 June at 10am?

Hot topics do not go away! Source of Funds (SOF)  is one of the hottest subjects in 2022 and we are thrilled to have Tom join our very own Richard Mathias for a cuppa and a chat!

The growing number of fraud, tax evasion, investment scams, and money laundering cases across the country has once again turned the spotlight on the importance of complying with anti-money laundering (AML) policies [1]. Couple this with the Russian corrupt cash and scrutiny on all activities surrounding Russian wealth, you have a difficult playground to work in. Financial institutions are not the only ones subjected to anti-money laundering regulations. Law firms are also required to monitor and investigate the source of funds they accept from their clients in legal transactions.

Building a single source of truth is key when protecting conveyancers against fraud. Saving time and removing the burden of having to deal with the admin often involved in a SOF search is something that a paperless process would truly relieve.

Join Tom and Richard for a lively morning break discussing how teams and departments can be more effective and efficient, how the conveyancing market is ever-changing and evolving, and how working smart with your Source of Funds process can really save time and protect everyone involved.
