How to Carry Out Effective ESG Due Diligence

A virtual event [1] is being hosted by Landmark Information on 27 January 2022 at 6pm GMT, which invites law firms to join to receive practical advice and examples of how best to conduct effective Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) due diligence to clients.  Leading ESG practitioner Paul Davies, from the global law firm Latham and Watkins, will provide insights into the processes and systems they have implemented to conduct effective and consistent ESG research on behalf of its client base.

Simon Boyle, Legal Director at Landmark Information said: “ESG is of increasing strategic importance to firms around the globe, however it is clear that there are challenges in not only gathering the data and information needed on which to calculate an accurate performance measure, but the complexity of the task remains a real concern to corporates and law firms.

“Our recent research found that corporates believe that greater measurement-focused support is required in their organisation, and that law firms could benefit by offering more help to clients in this field; in fact, a significant 86% of UK and 77% of US corporates think law firms have an opportunity to increasingly advise or support this space.”
