Dye & Durham: Climate Change and Ground Conditions

3rd May 2022 at 11:00 am - Online

Dye & Durham UK Insight & Data are delighted to bring you four brand-new webinars in association with Property Law UK. This third session will focus on climate change impacts on ground conditions. Director of Science at Dye & Durham UK Insight & Data, Dr Tim Farewell is one of the UK’s leading academics on ground risks and is best placed to explain these hidden hazards.

Tim is an environmental data scientist specialising in the dynamic interactions between geohazards and the built environment, helping property professionals understand complex, geospatial environmental data so they can make more informed decisions, without needing to be ground risk specialists themselves. Tim will demonstrate via case studies the costliest ground hazards, how they form, and the risk they pose now and in the future. You’ll hear fascinating statistics from different regions of the UK and what conveyancers can do to mitigate these risks.

Ian Quayle is a qualified solicitor and has worked in private practice for 12 years specializing in property law matters and will give tips and traps for residential conveyancers. After the talk Nicolien, Dr Tim, Tom and Ian will be available to answer your questions live. Everyone is welcome to this free talk, and we hope you take interesting facts and statistics away with you.

Insight & Data is an award-winning team within Dye & Durham UK, consolidating the environmental, ground, and cyber hazard knowledge of Future Climate Info (FCI), Terrafirma and Lawyer Checker. As well as hearing from climate and ground risk experts from Dye & Durham, joining the speakers on this series is Legal Training Consultant Ian Quayle, and Barrister Tom Graham.
